The exhibition Media Hybrid Photo Film presents part of the results of the eponymous course in the Master Visual Culture at the University of Klagenfurt in winter term 2020/21. Under the direction of Klaudija Sabo two photofilms were selected for the exhibition: Nemesis (12 min.) by Christian Brandstätter, Selina Dürnle, Kurt Kellner, and Karolina Wochocz as well as Undine (15 min.) by Petra Fiedler and Barbara Schlesinger Gomez. Both films deal with fictional as well as real catastrophes: Nemesis tells the story of the four apocalyptic horsemen sent to earth to destroy humanity. The film combines in a collage-like manner film and photography with excerpts from a painting. Undine works with narrative as well as visual fragments of the Undine myth and combines them with the current events of refugee movements. Other artistic objects (photography, installation, painting) related to the photo films accompany the exhibition and turn it into a polymedia experience.
